Open Day at Přerov
Extract from the » Hungarian version
This year's Open Day at the 23rd Combat Helicopter Regiment was really a successful one - like the one in the previous year.
The static line included modern and wfu aircraft from the Czech Air Force as well Belgian and Norwegian F-16s, German Tonkas, British Puma, French Super Etendard, Falcon 10 and Gazelle, and a Belgian A-109.
The flight program begun with some light civvies, including a three-ship Z-50 acrobatic flight from the Red Bull team. Two L-159 simulated a ground attack mission with lots of pyrotechnics. A very spectacular solo was flown by a Czech Gripen pilot. However, at Přerov the emphasises was on the helicopters, and not on the Belgian F-16 or Slovakian MiG-29. Civil medevac helicopters, four-ship Czech tactical demo, Slovakian Mi-24 solo, a flyby by a Hind escorted by two Gripens, and so. One of the most spectacular moments was the take off of the fifteen-ship "Mega Group" - all of the helicopters taxied out to the runway, and lifted off at the same time, simultaneously.
